Replacing the water filter in your Kenmore/Coldspot refrigerator (106. Series) is a relatively simple process that can be completed in just a few steps:
- Locate the water filter housing. In most models, this will be located in the upper-right corner of the refrigerator compartment.
- Turn off the ice maker. This will prevent the water supply from being disrupted while you replace the filter.
- Open the water filter housing by turning the handle counterclockwise.
- Remove the old water filter by pulling it straight out.
- Discard the old filter.
- Remove the protective cap from the new filter.
- Align the new filter with the opening and push it in until it stops.
